In 2006, Dr. Dre partnered with Interscope Geffen A&M Records chairman Jimmy Iovine to create a headphone company in response to their combined displeasure with Apple’s ear buds. Dr.’ Dre’s “Beats Electronics” became a big hit that last year, Apple purchased the brand for $3.2 billion.

It was reported that the twins sell around $1 billion per year in merchandise.
